HUMAN RIGHTS WATCHDOG

Compassionate Helping Hands fortifies issues around corporate and government accountability in the promotion of human rights and justice in its total. We work to ensure that government and stakeholders in undertaking economic activities adhere to Human Rights Principles, and strives to see and ensure that stakeholders and the government adhered to three principal duties of Human Rights: Duty to Protect, Duty to Respect and Duty to provide Access to Remedies. 

As a Human Rights Watchdog, our work includes: 

  • Documentation of human rights violations particularly women and girls related to conducts of businesses in the country and prepares Tanzania Human Rights and Business Report.

  • Engagement with Government on its duty to protect - Awareness raising, round-table discussions with government, agencies, parliamentarians, councilors to establish a framework, National Action Plans, policy etc. aimed for protection of women and girls rights.

  • Engagement with regional and international forums.

  • Engagement with corporations on duty to respect - Awareness creation, dialogues with corporations and facilitate strategic interest litigation.

  • Engagement with communities on Access to Remedy, community empowerment and awareness rising, assist communities with grievance mechanisms for redress - legal and/or administrative.
